Jaide Trussler

My name is Jaide and ever since I can remember I've had a passion for sewing and creating. I started at a young age learning how to sew and ever since I've spent my time improving and refining my skills to become confident in my skills.

I started my studies at GCSE level taking art and textiles (2017-2022) and then continuing on by doing Fashion and Textiles at A-level, alongside a level 3 Foundation Diploma in Production Arts for the Theatre (2022-2024). After thoroughly enjoying both I decided to continue my studies doing the FDA Costume for Theater, Film and TV at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School (2024-2026).

My time at the Old Vic Theatre School taught me lots of key skills including how to work effectively in a team and how to keep to deadlines when working on various projects. I learnt how to confidently create patterns and refine my hand sewing ability.

Whilst at the theatre school I worked on a few in house shows as a dresser, and in my 2nd year as costume supervisor of another in house show "Days of Significance". By doing these shows I learnt all the key skills on how to work backstage and how to manage and work in a team.

Outside of the theatre school I got the chance to work as a dresser for the touring show of To Kill A Mockingbird. This was a professional show that I dressed for 2 weeks at Bath Theatre Royal.
